INSIDE THE CHURCH

The interior of the church is a biblical vision of the Ascension. On the wall above the altar are the words “Holy, Holy, Holy (in Latin). Higher still is the Crucifixion scene with Christ, Mary Magdalene and John and the inscription “God so loved the world” also in Latin.

At the summit of the apse, the resurrected and ascended figure of Christ with angels and the blessed looking up. On the left side on a scroll, written in English, “They shall see his face” and on the other side “Your servants shall serve you”.

The walls of the church are simple engravings of angels in worship and recording. Finally the stained glass window on the left, as you enter the church, is of the ascending Christ surrounded by the Disciples.

The foundation stone behind the altar reads: “In fide jesu cristi, hic lapis positus est. Die festo ascension i domini A.S. MDCCCXC”
