WEATHER

  • September 1888 - On the 11 and 12th the Hotel was flooded through an inundation of the lake front. Three quarters of the guests left. Breakfast served in the chapel.

  • August 1890 - Great hail and thunderstorm. Hail stones larger than walnuts.

  • August 1893 - 89F. degrees in the shade.

  • March 1898 - Two ladies came by row boat from Bellagio. Most beautiful day

  • April 1907- North wind. Snow underfoot, very cold.

  • August 1918 - Beautiful week end

  • July 1928 - People kept away because of intense heat.

  • June 1959 - There was a terrible storm raging!

  • June 1968 - Beautiful summer day

  • July 1969 - Still a heat wave.

  • June 1987 - Huge thunderstorm again! Started at 8:40 church flooded.

  • July 1987 - Swimming in lake forbidden because of debris from Valtellina disaster. Como weather much improved.

  • August 1990 - Dreadful weather, many arrived drenched for the service.

  • September 1991 - No rain for 2 months - mist and no view other side of the lake.
