MINISTERS

  • The Church has always had “locums”, mostly from the United Kingdom and Ireland, but some from France, Germany, Turkey, India, Egypt, Hong Kong and the United States.

  • The number of “Locums*” have been 469 while the number of “visiting” ministers have been 296. For a complete alphabetical listing of "Locums" click here.
      *defined as a Minister that covers at least two or more successive Sundays

  • The Church has had two resident Ministers: Rev.L.A.Claxton from 1974-1976 and Rev.A.J. Plummer from 1977-1978.

    Visits or Services held by the Bishop:

  • 29 September 1891 - Consecration of the Church

  • 14 October 1900 - Holy Communion

  • 23 June 1907- W.E. Gibraltar, H.C.

  • 3 May 1914 - H. Gibraltar, H. C.

  • 26 May 1921 - John Gibraltar first visit, H.C.

  • 22 April 1923 - John Gibraltar, H.C.

  • 2 May 1926 - John Gibraltar, H.C.

  • 21 September 1929 - Nugent Gibraltar, H.C.

  • 18 September 1932 - Nugent Gibraltar, Matins

  • 29 September 1936 - Visited the Church Harold Gibraltar and E.F.W.Eliot (Archdeacon)

  • 21 October 1948 - Church visited and inspected Douglas Gibraltar

  • 3 March 1955 - I visited and inspected for the first time. I find the Church is being very well cared for. Thomas Gibraltar

  • 21 September 1962 - Stanley Gibraltar, H.C.

  • 7 June 1964 - Stanley Gibraltar, H.C.

  • 20 June 1976 - John Fulham and Gibraltar, H.C.

  • 19 May 1977 - John Fulham and Gibraltar, H.C.

  • 24 September 1978 - John Gibraltar, H.C.

  • 26 May 1985 - Visit of Bishop John Satherwalte (Diocesian), John Gibraltar accompanied by Gerald Brunn, Chaplain of Milan

  • 28 September 1991 - John Gibraltar, Centenary Eucharest

  • The Bishop of Chichester (R.Drumford) was a frequent visitor from 1887-1895 and is noted as a generous donor to the Church. He passed away on 14th October 1895, aged 93, in Basle, on his way home.

  • Other “long serving” locums; Tom Gibson 1992-2006 (11 Years), Peter Harvey 1966-1992 (11 Years), Terry Ranson different years (8 years), Ben Williams different years (7 years).
